Bamboo river resort

Bamboo River Resort has colorful displays, a bar, and both camping and indoor accommodation. The air feels especially fresh among the mountains and forest, and the resort now looks equipped and beautified compared with the old photos here. It's about a 25-minute walk through the forest to the lower part of Wli Waterfall, then a two-hour climb to the upper falls. A serene spot in West Africa.

The scenery is breathtaking, and being so close to the waterfall was a big plus during my three-day stay last month. It's quiet, feels safe, allows pets, and you can bring your own activities. There's also a bar. My fan room was simple, just a bed and bathroom, and was okay, though I'd suggest mosquito coils. Don't forget insect repellent, either. The food was expensive and not really to my taste. The tap water wasn't clean, so bring antiseptic. I couldn't get many photos because the resort was poorly kept. It needs better environmental care, and could be an amazing place with that attention.

I don't understand the four-star comments. This place was disgusting, and I was very disappointed with the weekend trip my tour booked here. The bridge to the rooms was broken and looked suspicious. The room was awful, with only a bed, chair, and AC unit; the walls were filthy and need remodeling, and the outlets were outdated. The blanket had awful stains and looked unwashed for years. I asked for a replacement and never received one. The Wi-Fi and hot water didn't work. I've attached photos of what I saw. It may once have been a thriving resort, but it has gone downhill.

We came for Wli Falls, which is right by the resort, and I enjoyed the calm setting and relaxing water feature around the villas. Walking to the falls took about 40 minutes at a steady pace. My room was simple and nice, though there are no TVs, so bring something to keep yourself entertained. Dinner options came from the small bar area, and the grilled tilapia with fried rice was really good. Breakfast choices were just tea, bread, and eggs. The shower floor was very slippery, with tiles that had no grip and weren't bathroom tiles. I fell twice, so be careful when it's wet. Most staff were pleasant, though one woman acted as if she didn't understand me. I'm not sure whether she understood English. Some parts of the place were unkempt, with rubbish around, and it could use a cleanup. I stayed at the beginning of January. The room cost 300 ghc, grilled fish with tilapia was 70 ghc, and waterfall access was 25 ghc.
