The local tavernas were plentiful and good, and the beaches were beautiful. We stayed at the Elena apartments for a week and wished we could've made it two. The owner was tremendously helpful, the apartment was spotless, and we could use the swimming pool at Acharavi Garden just down the road. And those sunsets!......

Acharavi Gardens' pool bar and the sea are only a few minutes away on foot, which is handy since the apartments don't have their own pool. The setting is amazingly peaceful, and the self-catering apartments feel homely. The manager and cleaning staff are super friendly, know their stuff and can't do enough for you.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, even though it was 3am. The Elena team made our stay in Corfu great, and nothing was too much trouble for the owners and management. They sorted out a couple of tiny issues quickly and without any inconvenience. The gardens are green and beautifully kept, with lemon and lime trees, shrubs and flowers. It was a pleasure to sit on any of the verandas for breakfast or an evening drink. The beach is just a couple of minutes away, and the apartments are cleaned daily. There are hardly any passers by, so it felt private and there was little disturbance day or night. The rooms have air conditioning with a remote and timer, comfortable enough beds, and safes for valuables if you want one. The kitchen is equipped well enough for small meals, and the cooking facilities do what they're supposed to. Wi-Fi is free and fast, around 16-20Mb/s, enough for streaming Netflix or Amazon. The modern flat screen TVs let you plug in an Amazon Fire TV stick for a favourite show if you have to stay in instead of enjoying one of Corfu's many great taverna's. Six stars ******

The bathroom flooded all over the floor every time I showered, and the place needs doing up. The balcony was shared, whatever your neighbours were like, and the walk to the strip was long. The man who checked us in and was usually behind the bar was the most ignorant person I've ever met, and so unhelpful. I don't know why people give this place 4 stars. My job takes me to hotels and apartments all the time, and this was one of the worst. I've stayed places that needed work, but the owners or manager made up for it. Not this man. I felt like he couldn't wait for us to leave, so I won't come back.
