Parnis Palace Hotel

We left and found somewhere else for the next 6 days of our vacation because we couldn't rest. The pillows weren't proper, and the curtains let the light into the room, waking me from 6 in the morning. The hotel had told me the curtains were going to be changed, but my friend's room was darker and I managed to sleep there, even though it was in very bad condition. The bathroom was okay, but needed an update and better cleaning. They changed only the sheets, not the bed cover. When I tried to book 2 rooms, there weren't any covers, and the blanket I found in the wardrobe was used and dirty. The hotel was nice and clean otherwise, and the staff were polite and helpful. If you stay, bring your own blanket, unless you like waking up at 6.00 in the morning and sunbathing.

At least the room had air conditioning and an anti-mosquito barrier at the window. The rest was in terrible shape: the sheets had holes, the floor was barely swept, the wooden doors were falling apart, and the bathroom ventilation was very noisy. The pool also looked neglected, with oily stuff on the surface, green walls, and bugs and leaves in the water. Breakfast was very cheap for a 4 star hotel, and it wasn't even ready when the restaurant opened at 7. The supposed "hand made" fruit juice came from bottles, and the eggs were battery-farmed. Everything wasn't available until 9.30 a.m, even though breakfast ended at 10. I lost my glasses by the pool, and another guest handed them to reception. When I asked, they said they had no medical glasses. I had to ask three times and bring the guest over before they gave them back. I also left a white shirt when we departed. After they had cleaned the room, I came back for it, but they wouldn't return it, so I had to let it go. It was a horrible experience, and I don't recommend staying there for now. They seem like they may be bankrupt. Until they hire honest, good people and attract enough guests to make money and invest in the place, I wouldn't recommend going.

The service from the staff was very poor. Breakfast was included in the price, but it wasn't ready when they opened.

We stayed two nights so we could see Athens at the end of our holiday, and this is our last night here now. The place feels run down, and it's definitely not 4 star as advertised. Our room was spacious but missing things, and there was barely any staff around. The breakfast lady and the young guy at reception were nice. The older gentleman, maybe the owner, spent most of his time cursing or shouting on the phone. He seems like a real d+ck. The pool was half empty and full of bugs.
