Hotel Belvedere

We had a nice stay and were pleasantly surprised after worrying about the recent reviews, though I’d give the hotel three stars. We stayed in the main building. The rooms were clean but basic, and the bathrooms were tiny. Housekeeping came every day, sometimes before 9am, and while our room had no Wi-Fi at all, our family got a patchy signal a few doors away. The pool and pool bar were clean and pleasant, but there were no depth signs and it gets surprisingly deep right around the edges. Breakfast was plain, dry, and very basic, though not completely inedible. The hotel arranged our car and quads, and the service was friendly and helpful. It’s a five-minute walk to the beach, close to town and across the busy, noisy main road from bus stop 10. For us it’s a three-star stay, not the four stars advertised.

The pool and bar area were lovely, and the staff were all pleasant. We had a great family holiday and would stay again. The location worked well for reaching the beach and bus, and gave us a real Greek island experience. Our rooms were basic, more like UK three-star standard, but very clean. Housekeeping was faultless, with regular fresh towels and sheets, and the floors swept and mopped every day. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, but there was enough for a light meal, including omelettes, fruit, pastries, and bread. If you want to gorge at every meal, this might not suit you. There are steep steps up to the rooms, manageable for an average person, even without gym visits, but I wouldn’t choose the bungalows with young children or mobility problems.

The rooms were lovely, with nice balconies, and the bathroom was good too. Staff were friendly and the location was a strong point. Still, we were told there would be Wi-Fi in the room and got none, disappointing for a four-star hotel. The pool and sunbeds looked dirty and uncared for, so I didn’t use them. Breakfast had little choice and the food tasted disappointing. To me, this felt like a three-star place rather than a four-star experience.

The power cuts while we were there were outside the staff’s control. Everyone worked hard to make our stay lovely, and the room cleaner deserves a special thank you. She does a fantastic job, and I hope her boss sees this. Please say good morning or hi if you see her, she deserves it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very nice, breakfast was good, and the pool was lovely. Try the evening cocktails, you won’t be disappointed. We’d stay again. ❤️👍
