Olea Bay Hotel

The rooms were pleasant, some had amazing bay views, and the pool and location were good. Breakfast was decent, though it could be brought up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Our stay got off to a bad start at check-in. The staff tried to put us in a room without an ocean view, even though our booking clearly said we had one. I can only guess they wanted to sell our room for more. They brushed off our complaints, and we only got the room with the view after our travel agent called, despite being told there was no ocean-view availability when we arrived. We felt scammed.

This hotel has potential, and the service was wonderful, but it feels too early to stay here. Some rooms apparently have major issues, and ours had no headboard. The sheets felt like two-dollar Chinatown sheets. The bathroom had backed up into the room, leaving a foul smell. Breakfast was the worst I had in Greece: there wasn’t a toaster, and the coffee was barely drinkable. It’s a beautiful property, but they charge top-tier prices. At that rate, I’d be crazy to stay. I’d wait a while or avoid it altogether.

The sea is right in front of the hotel, and the views from the pool are incredible. Our room was very spacious and clean, and the staff were amazing, always going above and beyond for guests. If you’re planning a trip to Milos, I’d say this is the place for a perfect vacation.

This was our favourite room of the trip: spacious, quiet, and with a lovely sunset view. The area is peaceful and good for unwinding, though you’ll need a car or scooter to get around, since town is a five-minute drive away. Staff were wonderful, and the poolside barman was great. Breakfast was simple but perfectly fine for a small hotel. It was good value, and we’d be glad to return.
