Tsakanos Home

My group had three of the four rooms on the property. While my friend was showering, she gently slid the door shut, but it came off its hinges and shattered onto her. She was cut in several places, and flying glass also cut another person. The owner showed no concern and tried to charge us 500 euros for the door. We were even kind enough to ask for a one-night refund to start with, when we could have sued. They told us “go ahead” and threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay the 500 euros. The cleaning lady then left our dirty towels, still with blood from that day, because they were annoyed with us. We left and got a refund through hotels.com. The owners are arrogant and rude. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The place felt dirty and run-down, nowhere near what I’d expect from a professional hotel. Staff were dismissive and rude, as if guests were a nuisance. The owner, Maria, was shockingly unprofessional, arrogant, aggressive, and nasty, with none of the basic hospitality you’d expect. An absolutely awful experience. Avoid it unless being treated with contempt and feeling like your stay is a punishment sounds appealing.

George treated us really well, and the staff were professional and quick to respond. It’s a clean place, very close to the port. You don’t need to pay for a taxi from the ferry, even with luggage it’s under a 10-minute walk, and you can stop by the very good local bakery on the way. Highly recommend.

We had a spacious, clean place, near the port and amenities, but far enough away for a quiet night. The receptionist was amazing and gave us all the information we asked for, though I’m sorry we couldn’t manage her complicated name! We’d be happy to return if we get the chance. Milos is paradise.
