Bella Casita Family Apartments

A peaceful three-star tourist hotel, but not the place if you're after all-inclusive or luxury. Rooms are spacious and the kitchen is okay, though there's no central heating. You can ask the staff for a coffee machine. The TV and toilet may sometimes cause problems. There's no pool of its own, but the beach is nearby and you can ask about using a neighboring hotel's pool. Breakfast is a regular set list, and the restaurant opens in the evening. The staff are friendly and helpful, so just ask. The bar is less expensive, and ouzo and raki are worth a try. Shops, restaurants, a taxi stand, and bus stops are nearby on the main street. Rethymnon is 5 km away.

We stayed from 05.06 to 20.06.2023, and the location was just right for a quiet break. Away from busy streets, we could sleep peacefully and hear birds singing. A nice beach and a swimming pool with a good bar were only a five-minute walk away. The owner and staff were lovely and always ready to help, and the atmosphere among guests from all over the world was very friendly. Thank you, Steve and Leo, for your hospitality and great service!

This family-run apartment hotel is rated three stars, but the service felt like five. We spent a week in Crete and loved being close to a lovely beach, with a nice pool for kids just before it. The staff had a great sense of service. Breakfast was simple but good, with fresh produce. The ingredients came from local gardens and places owned by the hotel, and the food tasted amazing while staying very fairly priced. Even the non-renovated apartments had the feel of a four- or five-star hotel room. Shops and things are close by, including a supermarket, tourist stores, diners, taverns, and a bus stop. The beach beside the hotel is by far the nicest part of the very long beach, but expect plenty of waves and possibly yellow or red flags when it's windy. One drawback in a non-renovated apartment was the small, hot, enclosed toilet, since the door has to stay shut for the AC to work. Cleaning was somewhat irregular, though it shouldn't be a problem if you don't make a complete mess. This was easily the best three-star stay I've had, better than most four-star hotels.

The staff were welcoming and helpful with everything we asked for, and breakfast had a good range of choices with great service, even though it wasn't a buffet as travel companies described. The hotel is close to the pool, beach, and several restaurants, in a fairly quiet area. Our room was roomy with enough storage for a week, but the air conditioning really needs an update. It didn't cool the room well, and we heard some guests had units that were broken altogether. We still had a great stay, thanks!
