Villa Al Mare

The beach was clean, the sea looked gorgeous, and we had an amazing 12 nights at this beautiful seafront villa. When the waves got big, swimming felt a bit risky, so I wouldn’t recommend it then. Maria was helpful whenever we had questions, and the cleaner who lives nearby brought us cakes and fresh tomatoes when she came. There’s a beach bar about 50 metres away, two doors down. It played loud music maybe two days a week when busy, but I enjoyed it, so it didn’t bother me. My one small criticism is the outdoor table and chairs. They weren’t very comfortable, and for the villa’s price it would be nice to have more luxurious furniture as a finishing touch. We did get a generous discount because of covid, though, so we can’t complain too much. The location, accommodation and service were all great, and we had a wonderful holiday.

We spent 1650 euro and all we wanted was to enjoy the island, but the whole stay left us with a sour taste. For 7 days there was no hot water, and the host wouldn’t offer a partial refund so we could move elsewhere. The listing said the villa was beach front, but three other buildings stood between us and the beach. It also showed a pool in the confirmation picture, but there wasn’t actually one. I’d give this villa a fat zero if I could. It was false advertisement. More details are in my booking.com review.

We loved the huge terrace, with sun loungers, a dining table and a sofa, and the views were amazing. The villa was very spacious, with extremely comfortable beds, and we had private access to the sea, which was great. It was spotless and looked exactly like the photos. We couldn’t have hoped for more.

The sea views are stunning, and the beach is right outside, with restaurants and shops nearby. The villa has four bedrooms, all ensuite, and all the mod cons for a family break. It’s fully set up for self catering, and the pool gets cleaned every evening. Sunbeds on the beach are allocated to the villa. The beach has pebbles and rocks in the water, so bring protective footwear. Town is a 10-minute drive away. I loved my time here.
