The first night left me with 18 bites, and we left at 6am after they refused our request to change rooms when we showed them. The rooms had insects and bed bugs, with no air conditioning and no Wi-Fi. We had to use our own data to find another place to go. Everything about this stay was misleading. We had a great stay and would book again. A friend had reserved five nights for us, and the negative reviews had made me nervous, but our room for three was good. It was clean on arrival, with fresh towels and sheets. There were no insects inside, and all the windows and terrace door had mosquito nets. Housekeeping wasn't daily, which was fine for us. We didn't cook, but the room had a working fridge, plates, and cutlery. The bathroom flooded whenever we showered, though the floor drain helped, so it was only a minor annoyance. Wi-Fi barely worked in our room, so keep that in mind if you need to work remotely. We knew in advance to bring 50 euros for the air-conditioning fee, and we really needed the AC. Maybe that's just what to expect in Greece. The owner was direct and businesslike rather than unfriendly, and answered our questions well. On checkout day we had to leave by 11:00, but our shuttle wasn't until 16:00, so he let us stay on the property and take one last swim in the pool. We could borrow beach umbrellas for free. The area wasn't very touristy, and the beach was mostly empty when we went almost every day. It was a 5-10 minute walk away. There's a mini market about five minutes down the road, plus a few nice places for food and drinks, but not much else. In early August we walked 30 minutes in 30 C heat to get breakfast groceries from a supermarket, since the mini market mainly had drinks, snacks, and beach essentials. We were happy just spending the holiday on the beach, but to see more of the island or avoid eating out every meal, I'd rent a car or budget for taxis. The reviews seem pretty nitpicky to me given the service.

We loved this peaceful little gem. It's simple but stunning, tucked away a short walk from Afantou Beach, and just right if you're after a real break and some proper relaxation.

I left after just one night. The bathrooms were in bad shape, the rooms looked badly neglected, and there was no service to speak of, just surly staff. The photos are outright misleading. I've never left a negative Google review before, but this time I would give zero stars if I could.
