Askelinos Villas

We spent six days at Askelinos villas as a family of four. The location is central, so reaching various beaches, villages, and taverns around the island was easy. The villas are fairly new, everything was in order, and they were thoroughly cleaned. The cleaning lady was careful with the details, took out the rubbish daily, and changed sheets and towels every two days. The kitchen had everything needed and there was a washing machine. The pool was a good size and depth. They also accepted our dog, who doesn't get on beds or couches or into the pool. The biggest problem for us was the upstairs second bedroom bed. At 130 cm wide, it's more suited to one person, and our fully grown sons, 16 and 14, couldn't share it, so we had to switch rooms. The upstairs bathroom was very small, with an okay shower but poor space around the toilet. Its door wouldn't stay shut unless the bathroom window was closed. Neither bedroom had enough luggage space, and the upstairs room had none at all. We also found a cockroach on the kitchen floor, which wasn't nice even in the countryside. The pool hydromassage didn't work, and the owner said it had only worked in the first year. We found just one nearby breakfast alternative, though there may have been others we missed.

A lovely villa, really spacious and very clean. The beach is within walking distance, and there's a beautiful private pool.

Historical

We had a proper holiday here, with no stress about time constraints. The villa is in a great strategic spot on the island, and one of its best sandy beaches with umbrellas, Amoopi, is just a two-minute walk away. There are also plenty of excellent, affordable tavernas around. The house and well-kept outdoor area were spotless, and the pool was regularly cleaned and a great size for time with family and children. The villa was tastefully furnished and well maintained. The kitchen was organized, and the double window overlooking the pool also works as a sofa. It was lovely to sit there in the shade during the day and enjoy the lit-up pool in the evening. The owner, Antonios, was very kind and quick to respond or find a solution whenever I needed something. I highly recommend it if you want a relaxed holiday and the option to make a quick lunch or dinner in the kitchen. Five stars.
