Alexandra Beach Hotel

The restaurant staff were very friendly and professional, though the reception team could have been friendlier. There's a small supermarket in the same building. The beach is close by, but the beach chairs cost extra; the pool area gets very busy, and the cocktails at the bar weren't great. We had a superior apartment with two rooms, an equipped kitchen, sofas, a table and chairs. There wasn't much clothes storage. The bed was good, and the terrace was large but empty. It had a small Android TV and no shower gel. AC in the bedroom was free, with an extra charge for the living room. Breakfast had good options, some variety from day to day, and only orange juice. The food tasted fine. The holiday inclusive option let us choose lunch and dinner from a menu, with good choices, a salad buffet, and one glass of wine or beer included. I recommend it. Overall, 3.5/5.

The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was good and the service was very good. The staff were faultless, the beds were comfortable, and our sea-view room was quiet. But we didn't get a sunbed by the pool once all week: there weren't enough, and people reserved them with towels. The location was a big downside for us. It's very quiet and away from the main street, but the steep uphill walk in the hot sun was exhausting, even though we're fit. There's a courtesy bus, but we always seemed to miss it. Between the location and not being able to sit around the pool, I wouldn't return, though I would come back to the island.

The restaurant food was good, and the staff were nice. It's a really pleasant, relaxed place. One surprise: although we booked all inclusive, only breakfast was included on Thursday and Saturday. That should be made clear in the description.

We had a great time, thanks to the lovely and attentive staff. Christina at the front desk was especially helpful, and so was the hotel manager.
