The gardens, rooms and pool sit back from the main road, which kept things quiet and meant we couldn't hear the traffic. The room had a fridge, two hob rings, cutlery, plates and pans. Restaurants and shops are close, and the beach is only a couple of minutes away on foot. I'd definitely recommend it.

The owners left us with a very bad impression, and the rooms felt old fashioned and poorly equipped. I know it's a 2 star hotel, but to me it felt more like one star. We arrived late, so we understood that nobody would be there to greet us. Still, nobody spoke to us or welcomed us, and we didn't get any information about the hotel until we went to reception the next day. That's when we learned air conditioning cost extra, which came as a shock. We paid for it, but the conversation was unpleasant, and there had been no earlier mention of the charge or explanation of the facilities. On our last day, the response was rude again when we checked out and were told there were additional charges and taxes to pay. When we asked why we hadn't been told earlier or asked to pay on the second day, the owner just said, “everyone knows that”. More than £200 came out of our budget for things that we felt should have been included, as they had been at many places we'd visited, or at least explained at the start. The owner also rudely asked us to tell other guests about this. It left us with a sour feeling instead of the positive one we usually take away from Crete. There are better places to stay in the area, and we won't be coming back.

The toaster was a little thing that made me smile each morning, since every slice came out with a lovely smiley face. The apartment was really nice, with a kettle, fridge, toaster and coffee percolator, plus plenty of everything else. There was a large cosy sofa, a fairly large balcony, and a table outside the front door too. Lots of bars, restaurants and gift shops for every budget are very close by.

The gardens are beautiful and the rooms were clean and tidy. The pool bar was very, very expensive. On our last day we ordered two cheese and ham toasties, two portions of chips and two Cokes for lunch, and it came to €25.
