The villa was spotless and in excellent condition, with everything working properly. We were impressed by the pool's size, and the garden was beautifully kept. It was also so quiet that we never heard the neighbors. We wanted somewhere peaceful to relax away from the bustle, while still being close enough to shops and restaurants, and this was just right. The sea views from the hillside are stunning, and the location is hard to beat. The town center takes about 10 minutes to walk to, though the uphill route could be tough for some. There's a small supermarket around 5 minutes away, but it isn't very well stocked. I'd highly recommend the place, even if part of me wants to keep it to ourselves!

The only real hassle was finding the villa. Google Maps gets you there easily, so don't use the maps on iPhone. After that, we had a great week away. It was our first visit to Crete, and we'll be back. It was hot, with a refreshing breeze for the first few days before it got hotter as the week went on. There are plenty of restaurants, and we didn't have a bad meal. There are also lots of shops to keep my wife and daughter amused. The villa was modern, clean and good value, with its own private pool. It sits back from the main strip, so it was nice and quiet, and nobody could look into it. Even the villa next door didn't affect our privacy. The views were spectacular. The owners were very accommodating and got in touch promptly before we arrived.

The location is a great part of the villa's appeal. It's central but in a quiet area of Agia Marina, near the best beach clubs, restaurants and bars around Chania, and still within reach of the best west coast beaches, including Elafonissi, Balos and Falassarna. The villa itself is modern, with air conditioning in almost every room, a nice pool and a spectacular sea view. There are two villas side by side, but they're well separated and you won't notice the neighbors, so privacy is assured. Everything was simply perfect for us, and we'll definitely come back.
