Being able to watch the sunset just steps from our room each evening was magical. My sister and I spent August at Happy Cretan, and the whole stay felt peaceful and relaxing. The staff were so welcoming that by the end we felt like part of the family, and breakfast each morning came with beautiful ocean views and plenty to choose from. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with high ceilings, a separate sitting area, and bathrooms with private doors. We loved the large glass door that opened fully to let in the sea breeze. It made the room feel airy and open. They also provided a big Bluetooth speaker, which was fun to have. The place felt both comfortable and luxurious for a trip together as sisters. The food was excellent, with enough variety that we didn't get tired of it after several days. Greek Night was a highlight, with a tasty selection of traditional dishes, plus live singing and dancing. It felt fun and authentic, not cheesy. We enjoyed massages at the spa, and it was nice to be able to use the facilities before and after the appointments. Both pool areas were well set up, and even in busy August we could always find a chair. We'd absolutely come back. It's a real gem.

The service was warm, personal, generous, and impeccable. We ended up having dinner at the restaurant most days because the food was so good, especially the stuffed wine leaves, mushroom risotto, and beef orzo. Breakfast was great too, with a stunning sea view. The outdoor gym was a real treat. We'd just returned from a short week here with our 3 year old. Several nice beaches and restaurants are only a short drive away, with a mix of busy spots and more secluded ones. We'd recommend it, and it's on our list for another visit.

If you want nightlife or lots of shops nearby, this quiet place away from the city may not suit you. But for silence, beautiful views, and time surrounded by nature, it's ideal. There are several pools, an open-air gym, and everything you need to relax and recharge. At Happy Crete Suites, the staff were friendly and helpful, everything was spotlessly clean, and the modern interiors were lovely. A great choice if you're looking to get away from city life and enjoy Crete. Highly recommended.

The service was excellent, breakfast was very good, and the property itself is undeniably beautiful. I couldn't give it five stars, though, because the WiFi in the bedrooms was unreliable and didn't work properly. More significantly, the air conditioning didn't cool the room enough, making it hard to sleep well. I hope management fixes these problems. With those issues addressed, the stay could match the level of perfection the hotel otherwise comes close to.

The grounds are gorgeous, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are the best. Happy Cretan works really well for couples and families. I must have gained a couple of KG's during the week because the food was so good. It's also easy to pop down to Agia Pelagia for dinner, and Heraklion isn't far away. Stay here, you won't be disappointed.
