Terra Nera Suites Santorini

The thoughtful personal touches made Terra Nera stand out from other hotels in the area. We were staying just before our wedding, and they surprised us with sparkling wine, fruit and a little note. We also received a rose with Terra Nera on it as a welcome gift, plus plenty of water each day. Our suite was nicely decorated and had lots of amenities. It connects to the restaurant and a dedicated beach area, where we were able to use the sunbeds. Christos welcomed us when we arrived, and the owners of both the property and restaurant were really nice. We felt very welcome and had an amazing time.

We stayed nine days and still wished we could have stayed longer. The goodbye on our last night and morning was lovely, and it was hard to leave everyone. It's a peaceful place to unwind, even though it's connected to a busy beachfront. There are only six suites around a pool that isn't overlooked. We stayed in the blue monkeys suite, which was beautifully decorated to a high standard. The beds were large and comfortable, with an extra quilt for anyone who likes a heavier cover. We loved the unexpected his and hers bathrooms, since we could get ready at the same time, and there was even a small rooftop upstairs. Little extras were well considered: complimentary wine on arrival, unlimited free water rather than one bottle per day, and Stella did a wonderful job housekeeping. Fatma arranged a private wine tour around our preferences and helped with transfers, bus stops and explaining the beach train. The tour company was amazing too, and has a stellar review. The hotel connects to a separate restaurant run by the same people, where guests are guaranteed a table and front row sun loungers on the beach. Yorgos was a lovely owner who chatted with us every day and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. We ate our way through the menu without one disappointing meal. The waffles they're known for in the area were out of this world, and I loved the tzatziki too. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and did an excellent job in the very warm weather. Yorgos has a great team.

All four of us hated leaving this perfect little corner of Santorini, especially after just one night. The beach and pool areas were comfortable places to relax, and the food, drinks and coffee from the restaurant were all delicious. The rooms and shared spaces felt serene and spacious, were spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed. We got the warmest, kindest welcome of anywhere we stayed in the Greek Isles, and that feeling continued throughout our visit. We hope to come back one day.

The beach here is sandier than others in Santorini, with better access to the water, and the delicious food is close to everything we wanted to see and do. Bring the family or come as a couple, it works well for both. The suites were beautiful and so comfortable. The staff anticipated our needs throughout the stay and made us feel like family. Can't wait to come back!
