Due Mari Mykonos

The walk to Ornos beach was a steep downhill stroll, but perhaps not suitable if you have mobility issues. You walk on the road and then take a rocky, uneven shortcut that avoids a tight bend. We enjoyed the area, visiting the beach and 5x5 for gyros, then using the beach bus stop to get into the centre for €2 each, cash only. We had a car and would recommend one for staying out here, although taxis and other transport are possible. We liked being able to explore the island at our own pace. There was no breakfast or bar, but Wolt delivery was quick and easy when we tried it. Usually it was quiet and peaceful, though the building site across the hills was noisy with cement mixers and digging on a couple of days. The team at Due Mari spoiled us from check-in. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the WhatsApp group was a great way to communicate and get tips. The hotel was spotless, with a gorgeous pool area. The pool was too cold for us in May, so we just dipped our toes in. Lots of friendly, vocal cats live around the hotel, and they'll visit if you've got food on the balcony. Our room had breathtaking views, great facilities and a fab little kitchen. We mostly used the fridge, coffee machine and a couple of glasses and mugs, since we ate out, but there was also a kettle, Nespresso machine, pans, cutlery, plates and plastic glasses for the hot tub. We loved the welcome bowl of fruit and crisps and the half bottle of wine. Housekeeping cleaned beautifully every other day and let us rest when we needed a lie in after too much Greek wine. The soft, fluffy robes were lovely to wear on the balcony in the cool morning sunshine with coffee. Large towels and face cloths felt like a luxury, too. We loved having the hot tub on the suite, especially on cooler days. A few things could be better. There was no full length mirror, and the bed was very short and hard. I'm 5ft7 and often woke with my feet hanging off. We had stayed elsewhere first, where the bed was super comfortable, so the hard mattress stood out. We'd have preferred two pillows instead of one regular one and a decorative one that was too high to sleep on. After cleaning, only half the quilt cover was on, leaving the bare cover on top. The tea and coffee setup could have had teabags, milk and more than two coffee pods and some sugar. We also would have liked towels specifically for the hot tub, since we used our beach towels. We only stayed a couple of nights, so these weren't a big deal, and if we'd stayed longer, we would have asked for some of them to be sorted. We'd absolutely come back to Due Mari.

The rooms were spotless, spacious and nicely decorated, and the service was professional from the moment we arrived. The location made things easy, close to the market and beaches, with transport services that added comfort. Every detail felt thoughtfully handled and we felt at home. Simply amazing, and I'll definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

The quiet pool area and comfortable room were just what we wanted in Mykonos. Several cats visited our balcony and made the place even more charming. The property looks out over the two seas, and the team welcomed us throughout our stay. The man at the welcome desk was especially kind and helpful, the best hospitality I received in Greece. Due Mari made for a memorable holiday. I'd love to return, and only wish we'd stayed longer.
