Mistral Bay

The Mistral Bay doesn't feel like a four-star hotel to me, three stars at best, though we did enjoy our stay. The location is hard to beat, close to the town center and just a couple of minutes from the nearest beach. We slept well most nights, there wasn't much noise inside the hotel, and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was exceptional, and meals were nice with plenty of variety and choice. The hotel was clean and had a relaxed feel. Staff, from reception to the cleaners, were good. Our room felt cramped, though, with no chairs or little table, so sitting on the bed was the only option. The veranda was really only useful for the air conditioner. Cleaners sometimes knocked before 9am to service the room. My main gripe was the restaurant, which felt more like a canteen. The food was tasty and varied, but nearly always warm rather than hot, including the fish and meat. No water was served or offered with meals. A small bottle cost two or three euros, and we weren't allowed to bring our own water or other drinks. I've travelled a lot and haven't encountered that elsewhere.

May 2026: Mistral Bay has had a complete makeover, everything is new. The rooftop terrace has the best views around, with no building higher than the hotel. Service was genuinely friendly and wonderful. We had breakfast and dinner buffets, both excellent with lots of variety, and you can tell the chef loves cooking. Definitely worth the stars!

At least the hotel is close to the town center. In the room, though, you could hear everything happening in the hallway, which made it hard to sleep. Dinner was a letdown too, the food was cold or unappetising, and there weren't enough seats, so some people had to wait standing with their plates.

For my first trip to Greece, being able to walk to the city center, shops, cafés and other facilities was a lifesaver. I had a great stay at Mistral Bay Hotel, and the rooms were roomy, clean and tastefully cozy. The internet was fast and reliable when I needed to work. Food and drinks were delicious, too. The staff spoke excellent English and were ready to help with requests. Tanzeel at reception stood out for noticing even the smallest details and making my stay special. A solid 5/5, I can't recommend it enough!
