Apanemo Hotel

At Apanemo Hotel & Suites in Akrotiri, the staff made us feel at home from the start. Calling them “staff” hardly captures how warmly they welcomed us, almost like a close-knit family. Isabelle's sunny nature and infectious charm made each interaction a cheerful moment. Spyros, the property manager, was the heart of the place for us. He comes from Antikythera, a breathtaking island that remains unspoilt and away from the usual tourist track, and he seemed to carry its quiet, unhurried character with him. His kindness felt natural and sincere, not rehearsed. The panorama is stunning, the sort of view that takes your breath away each morning as if it were new. The rooms were immaculately clean, cared for quietly and diligently, and breakfast was generous and wholesome. Apanemo brings together Santorini's glamorous, dreamlike side and the genuine welcome we associate with Antikythera. As seasoned travellers, we know how unusual that is on an island where hospitality can feel like just another commodity. This is more than a hotel, it's somewhere we truly felt at home. I was extremely happy with this hotel. There were a few tiny flaws, but they mattered so little that I don't think they're worth mentioning. For a 3-star hotel, it's honestly the best I've stayed in. The place was spotless, right down to the cushions we sat on. Breakfast was filling and satisfying, and the hotel felt peaceful. You could easily spend the whole day there because it has everything you need. The staff seem to have been chosen for their kind, respectful nature. Everyone was so professional, hospitable, and solution-oriented, especially the woman at reception. The kitchen staff were polite and respectful too. Whatever we needed or whatever problem came up, they handled it quickly and kindly, doing all they could to make us comfortable. Even when we caused a bit of trouble or struggled to explain ourselves, they were very understanding. It also doesn't feel like a money-hungry business that counts every penny. Whoever manages the hotel, thank you for doing such an amazing job.

We booked for the amazing view, but the stay itself is what we enjoyed and would recommend. The hotel has been updated and renovated since the original photos, which made arrival such a pleasant surprise, and we felt welcome right away. Having a hotel driver was a real bonus. We took the boat trip they recommended and it was fantastic, and lunch in Oia was amazing. Still, just relaxing in that beautiful setting was exactly what we needed. Thankyou. X

The staff were the real highlight, from the front desk to the restaurant and porters. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and keen to go above and beyond. The views are stunning, the pool is lovely, and the restaurant food was great. My villa was adorable, spacious but cozy, and spa services are available.
