Almyrida Village & Water Park

I can’t recommend this place. The meals were decent, but exactly the same every day, and cutlery was often missing. Sometimes we’d already started eating cold food before forks arrived. The animal farm was a tragedy to see; I felt so sorry for the animals, and someone should investigate. It’s outrageous. The hotel doesn’t meet four-star standards, and after staying there I’m not sure it deserves two. Our room was dirty and dusty and badly needed a thorough clean. The bathroom was filthy and moldy, poorly lit, and water kept covering the floor even when we hadn’t used any, so towels had to stay on the floor. The cleaner didn’t replace them, just hung them on the rack to dry. A drawer under the sink fell on my son on the first day, though fortunately he wasn’t hurt. The lights in the dark hallway to our room didn’t work, so we had to feel our way back to avoid hitting an open window. The Wi-Fi was out too.

The food was freshly cooked each day, with a lovely range of hot and cold Cretan dishes, breads, salads, fruit, and vegetables at every meal. There was always a choice, and even my fussy eater enjoyed trying some new flavors. We stayed in a family suite for a week and tried all-inclusive for the first time. The hotel was amazing, spotlessly clean, with great beds, a great pool, fresh food, and fabulous staff. It’s also perfectly close to the center of Almyrida!

Every meal was delicious and had something different, and the team looked after us with such genuine care and attention. After staying in many luxurious 5+ star hotels, we found Almyrida truly outshone them. Our vacation felt like a dream, and we’re so grateful to everyone for a wonderful stay. Wishing the hotel continued success and prosperity. This is definitely not a 3-star hotel to us, it’s a solid 10 out of 10! ❤️❤️❤️

We left after four days because nothing was good. We only had a key for the balcony door since they didn’t have one for the main door. The bed was old and the mattresses were bad, the internet was really poor, and there was an odd buzzing sound by the swimming pool. The staff weren’t very friendly, apart from one person. The food was the same every day and wasn’t good quality. There’s not much ambition here, and it should be easy to do so much better.
