The location was amazing, which we already knew from staying nearby before, and the host had been very helpful while we booked. But the apartment was a different story. It was on the top floor, perhaps 15 meters from the sea, and quite small, though we thought that might be fine since we only needed somewhere to sleep. The bathroom looked old and dirty, with missing grout, a drooping shower, and very dark tiles. In the studio, there was a burn mark on the worktop, and the table/dresser had a burn ring and more marks. It all looked filthy. There was also none of the kitchen equipment shown in the pictures. After going for a swim to think it over, we decided we couldn’t stay. I told the host about the cleanliness and damage, and said the room wasn’t acceptable because it didn’t look like the advertised photos. I understand photos can sometimes differ, but this felt like buying a racehorse and getting a donkey. The host said I owed money for the apartment and that it was unfair to do this to her in August. She insisted the room was clean and tidy, saying it was a matter of opinion. I didn’t pay the remaining balance, but I didn’t get a refund either. She said this was why she now takes full payment instead of deposits, as she had for us. I’m glad I hadn’t paid in full. Avoid.

The setting was very quiet, just a short walk from the main strip, with the beach right nearby. There’s a great beach bar on one side and a well-known grill bar on the other. The sunrises were beautiful to wake up to. We spent 10 nights there in September and were happy with our stay. The room and bathroom were cleaned every day, towels changed every other day, and linen every five days. The furniture is basic, but the beds, mattresses, and pillows were comfortable. Wi-Fi was fair in our room and worked by the balcony too. The bathroom was clean and nice, and sunbeds were free to use. Maria was lovely and charming. She answered emails and calls right away, and kindly helped us print some papers we needed. We’ll come again!

The beach is right beside the property, about 30 meters away, and the service was satisfactory. The rooms are very basic, but that’s what I expected at this price. One thing that could be improved is the glass window at each room entrance, which has no blind or curtain. The room gets hot during the day and bright early in the morning. A curtain across the door would have been appreciated.

We never got to stay. The owners moved our holiday three times because of covid, which was good of them. But when the trip was due this year, we hadn’t been double vaccinated yet, and they said they couldn’t change the dates again. I’d told them four months beforehand that we couldn’t make it, so I don’t see why they couldn’t resell the rooms and move our booking. We lost well over £1200 on a non-refundable holiday. Very disappointing, and we won’t consider this property again.
