The pool area was kept clean, but it closes at 6 pm, and there weren’t enough sunbeds. The bar opens at 10 pm and shuts at 11 pm. On the beach, the water was clean, though it was windy most of the time, with windmills above the hotel. The beach itself felt neglected: nobody seemed to clean or maintain the sunbeds, cigarette butts were everywhere, and only the trash from bins was collected. Its bar runs from 10 am to 6 pm. Water, coffee and beer there were acceptable, while the other drinks tasted like water with no flavor. The food was average and repetitive, with a limited, cheap selection, though most people could find something to eat. Breakfast was the same each day and had no vegetables. The drinks were poor too, including cheap Dorisa fizzy drinks full of sugar, and Magnus beer, which I found the worst quality in Greece. Best to stick to water. I’d rate the coffee 2 out of 5. No hotel employees seemed to drink the coffee or drinks, which also says something about their quality. This does not feel like a four-star hotel to me, at most a three. The rooms have the basics, but the bathroom is tiny, with an unpleasant smell. Unless you’re Chinese, it’s hard to sit properly on the toilet. On the plus side, rooms were cleaned every day, with fresh towels and sheets. For a hotel with more than 250 rooms, there are only two extremely small elevators, and only two people are allowed in each at a time.

The dining was the biggest disappointment during our six nights at the start of August. Lunch and dinner were especially poor: food ran out, the menu barely changed and felt recycled. If you weren’t there early, you might be left with an omelet or leftover chicken instead of that day’s meal. Plates were often unavailable, salads looked sloppy, and meat portions were small and sometimes undercooked. With 400 people to feed, the hotel should plan ahead. There’s a lot of room to improve the food preparation. There were a few good points. The manager and staff were extremely friendly. Evi Xamilou at reception tried to fix some of our problems, Dimitra greeted us with a smile at breakfast and lunch, and the cleaning lady worked hard to keep our floor clean. The ice cream was delicious and the kids loved it. I also appreciated that the staff did their best with the few resources available to them. The pool never had a free lounge chair when I looked. There were too few for the number of guests, and some inconsiderate people reserved several with towels. We complained to the manager, and near the end we were given two chairs at the far end of the beach by the beach bar. I was glad to be on the second floor, since guests with children on the third or fourth had a hard time with the elevators. There are only two for 400 people, and each fits just two people. I’d suggest adding at least one outdoor elevator. The hotel has real potential, and with improvements to these key points it could earn its four-star rating again. There’s plenty of room to get better. In the end, we both had mixed feelings about our stay. Three out of five stars.

It was within my budget, and I did manage to relax and have a good time, even though the hotel felt pretty average. The beach and pool had no space for me, and the pool was so full of kids that we never used it. With everyone sharing the same space, it felt overwhelming at times. The food was average and repetitive, with lunch and dinner coming back in different recipes. Plates ran out, it was very busy, and there weren’t enough staff to clear tables or lay cutlery. We ended up eating at dirty tables. The staff were doing more than they could, but there just weren’t enough of them. There must be at least 200 rooms here. There was only one cocktail bar, with one bartender. I have to say, the drinks there were better than at other all-inclusive places. The beach bar had a machine where you poured your own soft drinks or coffee. No daytime snacks, just ice cream. The lift took ages to go up and down, which got frustrating. It often felt like there weren’t enough people around to help. I’d read the reviews and kept my expectations low, but still hoped the place would be better. In the end, I’d call it average.

I stayed at Evia Riviera Resort in August 2025, and the food situation was seriously concerning. On August 16, they served cold cuts that smelled strongly sour and were clearly spoiled. My 2.5-year-old child ate some and later had skin reactions. When I showed the plate, two employees visibly reacted with disgust, and another confirmed the product was spoiled. The hotel did not take responsibility. They gave me only a brief handwritten note, then tried to minimize what happened. In management’s written reply, they denied the incident, despite what I and their own employees had witnessed. Breakfast was also extremely poor every day, repetitive and without fresh vegetables, not what I’d expect from a so-called 4-star all-inclusive resort. This was unacceptable, unsafe and very disappointing. Families with small children should know before booking.
