Galini Apartments and Studios

The host couple and their daughter are incredibly friendly and service-minded, and their daughter speaks English very well. The pool is clean and wonderfully refreshing. Galini is a very clean, decent hotel, at least in the studios where we stayed. The beds were a little hard, though that seems typical of Greek hotels. We chose a street-side studio, which I’d recommend because of noise by the pool. All the rooms have electric rolling shutters that keep them dark all day. Remember that air conditioning costs €6 per day. The location is great: the beach is at most a 10-minute walk away, two small supermarkets are next door, and there’s a coffeehouse across the road. A little farther up the street there’s an amazing bakery with Greek pastries and bread. Drove Away near the beach has cheap, reliable car rentals, and definitely have dinner at Athina by the beach!

This is a lovely couple’s small, traditional and basic Greek B & B, the kind of owner-run hotel you don’t find often these days. It isn’t posh, but it’s very clean, and the area is nice with some tavernas nearby. The price is very low, so we bought breakfast at the hotel to support the business, and it was lovely. The owners were friendly and welcoming, and our room had a brand-new bathroom. We loved this little hotel. It feels like real Cretan hospitality, not a faceless business with white walls.

We stayed in a clean, spacious quadruple room overlooking the pool, with everything we needed to be comfortable. It’s a lovely hotel in a perfect location, close to everything you might need. All the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. I’ve already recommended it to friends and family, and wouldn’t hesitate to return. I have to admit I fell a little in love with this place.

Good value for the price. The kitchen had all the things we needed, and the owners were nice and the place was clean. It’s about 10 minutes to the beach, at the end of the village, with a night supermarket nearby. Just note that air conditioning costs €6 per day.
