Kasapakis Hotel & Apartments

For a two-star hotel, it’s nice and quiet, and felt safe. There weren’t many guests. The cleaning staff did a good job, so it was very clean. The place is quite dated, though the fridge worked well. The furniture was very old but intact. The mattresses and pillows were very hard and smelled bad. We arrived around 2 am to find the windows shut and the apartment stuffy. The bathroom had no shower curtain, so it flooded and stayed that way until morning. That was the most irritating part. The toilet seat was in place, but there were no mosquitoes at the end of June and beginning of July. The pool is small and clean. It’s officially open from 8 am to 6 pm, though cleaning starts around 9 am. Air conditioning costs 7 euros a day; we didn’t need it because the weather was pleasant and nights were cool. You get a key for the safe at no charge. Breakfast was, I think, 8 euros, but we didn’t try it. The sea is across the road, while the beaches are about a seven-minute walk. Turn left for a very nice, wide beach with nobody there, which was a surprise. When it’s windy, you can use two closer beaches belonging to other hotels, as nobody checks if you’re a guest; sunbeds are available. The water is very shallow there. To the right is a central beach, then Lyttos, a luxury beach. It’s a village, so things are much more expensive than in Heraklion or Chersionis. Chersionis is a 25-minute walk to the main road, where bus 16 crosses the street to stop 20. A one-way ticket costs 2 euros. Heraklion is about 13 stops to the right and costs nearly 5 euros to the central bus station. I noticed small cars for rent from 10 euros a day. The cheapest restaurant was Marina tavern, with a super friendly waiter and good food.

Michael made the stay unforgettable. He was always smiling, incredibly friendly, and really went out of his way to make us feel at home. Thank you, Michael, for such a lovely experience, we’ll definitely be back! The rooms at Kasapakis Hotel and Apartments in Analipsi, Greece were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel is right across the road from the sea, so we could enjoy the sound of the waves morning and evening. The pool area was peaceful and lovely for relaxing in the sun. We were also pleasantly surprised by the delicious goat milk ice cream at the hotel, a real treat.

We expected basic but decent three-star accommodation at Kasapakis Hotel & Apartments in Analipsi, Crete. Instead, this was one of the worst hospitality experiences we’ve had. We weren’t told in advance that we’d have to wait until the second night to move into our actual room. The owner said air conditioning wasn’t included and would cost 7-8 euros a day, otherwise it was “just furniture.” That wasn’t what we expected from a hotel claiming to be three-star. The room had no soap, shower gel or hairdryer, just two rolls of single-ply toilet paper. When we asked, the owner said they don’t provide soap, then said it was only available in “premium” rooms. Basic hygiene apparently depends on what you pay. The bathroom was unacceptable: the toilet seat was taped or glued with silicone, the flush leaked onto the floor unless pressed exactly in the center, and hot water was unreliable or absent. When it worked, it was lukewarm at best and often rusty. There was an exposed electrical outlet beside the bed, a clear safety hazard. The fridge was rusty, the pillows stained and smelly, and there was mold inside the closets. Ants were in several rooms. Towels and sheets were changed irregularly. We were told rooms would be cleaned every three days and towels replaced every two, but that didn’t happen. At one point, two of us had to share one bath towel and one single bed sheet, and it took several complaints to get the basics back. Worse, clean towels and sheets were kept under an outdoor staircase, exposed to the elements. Throughout the stay, the owner was dismissive, unhelpful and unapologetic, and wouldn’t take responsibility for the conditions. This is not a three-star property and shouldn’t be marketed that way. The hygiene and safety problems are serious, and the disrespectful treatment was unacceptable. Avoid it for your comfort and health.

The noise from the hotel next door is really loud, and the shower floods the room. The beds aren't good, the curtain is pathetic, and the WiFi doesn't work. There are cats everywhere. Awful hotel. Don't waste your money, this place rips people off and you won't have a nice holiday.
