The location in central Argassi is great, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. I also liked the pool bar and the comfortable loungers. There were a few annoyances, though: cleaning was inconsistent, towels were changed every two days, and the walk-in shower left the floor wet. The €15 weekly fridge fee seemed unnecessary. Breakfast wasn't for us, with bland yoghurt, overcooked eggs, and loud music. People grabbed sunbeds very early, and the pool cleaning made mornings noisy. At BBQ night, there was a cat on a food tray, so watch out. Bring hangers, a quick-dry towel, and earplugs. Get sunbeds early, and try one of the nearby cafés for breakfast. The staff and beds were good, but cleaning, breakfast, and some of the policies could be better.

We got to know the staff by their first names, and every day they greeted us with a smile and drinks. They couldn't have been friendlier, and we loved spending evenings at the hotel bar chatting with other guests. Our room was modern and just the right size for two. It was our first time in Greece, and Zankythos was the last island on our trip. It ended up being our favourite, largely thanks to Contessa Hotel. We had a 10/10 stay and would absolutely come back. I couldn't recommend it more.

Everything we needed was close by, with shops, bars, and restaurants right outside, and we had no trouble finding a sunny lounger in June. There are quite a few shaded areas around the pool, though, so during peak season it might be harder to get a sunny spot. The hotel and pool bar were immaculate, and the staff were super friendly. We really enjoyed our stay, especially the comfortable pool loungers. It honestly felt more like a four-star than a three-star place. I'd happily stay again.

The pool bar staff were exceptional, gave great service, and made a lovely atmosphere. The cleaning and bar teams were always friendly, polite, and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily, and towels and bedding were changed regularly. They even provided toilet rolls, which was a first for us in Greece. The reception team, by contrast, felt very unfriendly. We were there for two weeks and noticed that returning guests seemed to get the best rooms, didn't have to wait until 3 for them, and seemed to have a good rapport with reception. We won't be returning, and first impressions are a big reason why. We arrived in the early afternoon and were told our room wouldn't be ready until 3. At that time we got the key, paid for air conditioning, and asked for a safe, only to be told it was broken. We always carry cash, so I was furious not having anywhere safe to leave it. The receptionist was snappy and unhelpful. We were given a premium room with a pool view, which we'd paid extra for, and I'd asked for an upper floor, but ours was on the ground floor. As we unpacked, the receptionist came over with a key for the safe, without an apology and still with a sharp attitude. Our view was blocked by trees and shrubs, and our room was in the far corner, so it wasn't much of a pool view. The layout was poor, with the bathroom basin in the room rather than the bathroom. There was nowhere to hang dresses, no drawers, and little shelf space. Breakfast was included, but we only ate it twice because it catered more for foreign guests. There was no English food apart from eggs and bread.
