Hotel Papillon 1

The welcome and service were lovely, and our modern room was cleaned daily. We had a nice view from the balcony. Air conditioning costs extra, but we didn’t use it. Keeping the curtains closed in the day and the door slightly open overnight worked fine for us. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. There weren’t many choices, and in that heat I would’ve liked more fresh fruit.

We had a fantastic week, and the hotel food was outstanding with very generous portions. Breakfast was delicious, and there are lots of excellent restaurants within walking distance too. The pool area was always clean and tidy, and our room was modern and extremely clean. Staff were attentive and happy to help with anything. Mag and Christina especially made our stay feel special. It’s a great place for a relaxing break, whether you’re a couple or a family, and we’d definitely return.

Even in October the hotel was still busy, which seemed like a good sign. We went for our anniversary and they’d left a kind message and champagne for us. The welcome drinks were thoughtful too, and we enjoyed them. The location is about as good as it gets, and there are plenty of sunbeds by the pool. Our room also had good insulation, so outside noise didn’t bother us. The rooms aren’t all equally modern, as we noticed some nicer ones. Hygiene was well maintained, with daily room service, and the cleaner was very thoughtful. Most staff were friendly, though the barmen weren’t, and one didn’t seem very welcoming. The hotel restaurant food wasn’t great. Still, for the price, there’s little else to fault.

Argassi is lovely, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we came back soon. The bathroom was nice, the bed very comfortable, and the pool area was great. We never struggled to find a sunbed. Staff were super friendly, and breakfast was okay, though the hot dishes were bland. The room loses a star for its paper thin walls. Unfortunately our neighbours were heavy smokers and spent all hours coughing, hacking and spitting.
