The owner was very friendly and quick to answer any questions, and the studio itself was clean with a good range of household appliances in the kitchen. There’s a parking space, so I’d recommend renting a car. The city center is less than a 10-minute walk away. Without a car, getting to the beaches can be a drawback: depending on which one you choose, it’s a 20-40 minute walk over very hot asphalt, which can be unpleasant at +34*C. Don’t miss Fiscada, a cozy village with good restaurants and a pleasant atmosphere, or Melissani Cave Lake!

There’s a beautiful forest walking trail only 100m away, and the balcony has an amazing view. You can park right outside the door. The apartment was fantastic, so clean and equipped with everything. I’d never seen so many coffee makers in one place: filter, capsule, and drip.

You can spend the day on the sun loungers and enjoy the sunshine, or use this as a base to explore the island. The place overlooks the capital and mountains, and there’s a beautiful beach about a 20-minute walk away. Up in the capital you’ll find bars, shops, great restaurants, turtles, a ferry to luxori, and more; go the other way and there are beaches, bars, and restaurants too. It’s a walk down and back up, so if that’s too much, there’s a parking space just outside the front door, and car hire on the island is very cheap. What an amazing little gem.
