Villa Chrisanthi

The shower was a little faulty, with water coming from both the tap and the handheld shower at once, but it was manageable. The shower cabin was also somewhat small. The staff mostly spoke Greek, though we managed to communicate well enough. Otherwise, the property was neat and clean, and the room was comfortable with almost all the kitchen facilities you’d need. There’s a large courtyard with lovely tables in front of each room and drying racks for everyone. The friendly staff cleaned the room daily, and the parking lot had enough spaces for all the hotel guests.

We only stayed one night, but were very happy with both the room and the owner, who was so kind and helpful. It wasn’t modern or luxurious, but it was really clean, so I didn’t need to clean anything again myself. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the yard is beautiful. Having a parking space was very convenient. We’ll definitely come back.

The service from this hotel was horrible. The owner confirmed two rooms by phone and in WhatsApp messages. I told her we were 30 minutes away, and she said we could come, even though it was already after 11 pm. When we arrived, she didn’t answer the phone. After several tries, she came out and said the rooms were no longer available because her mother had booked them for someone else 30 minutes earlier. I told her I’d spoken to her 30 minutes before to book them, but she kept saying her mother had made another booking and she hadn’t known. She could at least have messaged to let us know the rooms were gone instead of leaving us to drive 30 minutes and stranded without a hotel at 11:30 pm. Very unhelpful and arrogant. Don’t book!

We booked an apartment with three separate bedrooms, but on arrival the owner gave us a different one with one bedroom and two beds in the kitchen. She said she didn’t speak English very well and there had been a misunderstanding. When we asked for a different price since we hadn’t got what we booked, she said the price couldn’t change. The WiFi didn’t work, and the promised parking inside for our motorcycles was no longer available when we arrived, so we left them outside. Communication with the host was very bad. Renovation work was also going on, with noise starting at 8 am.
