Elisso Apartment

Right across from the door of Elisso apartment is Estia cozy apartment, which for some reason doesn’t appear on maps. We booked it through a platform that doesn’t let you leave comments, and it wasn’t Booking. It’s like Elisso, except it has a shower. The apartment was generally clean, but the bed sagged in the middle and the well-used sofa sloped forward, so neither was especially comfortable. It might be okay for five days. On the veranda, the clothesline was rusted through, and when the air conditioning was on, its pipes dripped all over the place, leaving the veranda permanently wet. On the second day, they put a bucket there too. Those were the minor issues. The bigger ones were all in the kitchen, and you can see them in the photos. We arrived at 13:30 and the cleaners were still working, even though we’d agreed on check-in from 14:00 onward. We explained we couldn’t stay outside any longer and would wait on the veranda until cleaning was done. That was what we were handed when they finished. I spent the afternoon wondering if I could stay there while pregnant, then at 17:00 I contacted the owner and sent the photos. He admitted the condition was unacceptable and sent them to clean it all over again. We came back at 21:00, and only the kitchen window and stove looked clean. Everything else was still in the same mess. The owner said I could leave and get a refund, but where could we go at the last minute on August 22nd, with a planned trip to Ithaca on August 27th? If this had been our only stay, I would have gone straight home. I’m writing this because I paid seven cents for those five days in that apartment. Whatever the price, handing over accommodation in that condition is shameless. There’s a recent 1/10 review on Booking for Estia cozy apartment saying it gets hot, especially in the kitchen. It’s incredibly funny that the owner is threatening to sue for defamation. There are now two of us saying the same thing. I just can’t comment on the Booking platform.
