Lorenzo House Apartments

We were left with no refund for a stay we never received, after being told we’d get a full refund. A receptionist first acknowledged what had happened and assured us the money would be returned, so we left. Later, the hotel denied that promise, and management called in an aggressive manner instead of trying to resolve things. On arrival, we were shown two rooms. One wasn’t what we’d booked and was in an unacceptable state, with a dirty mop and bucket in the corner. The other was called a “free upgrade,” even though it was simply the room we’d paid for. Both were dirty, smelled damp, and had cobwebs. We were left looking around for an office where we could get help, then treated as if the situation was our fault. Nobody offered proper guidance or even basic customer care. Advertising one standard, providing something completely different, promising a refund, then going back on that promise felt misleading and unprofessional. Avoid this place. They take your money, provide unhygienic rooms below an acceptable standard, and won’t take responsibility when challenged.

The rooms are basic, but they have a fridge, freezer, cooker, kettle, and utensils. Shops, restaurants, and the beach are all within a 10-minute walk, and there’s access to the pool and bar at the Lorenzo Hotel. I had a great stay at the Lorenzo House Apartments. Road traffic can be heard at night from rooms facing that way, though it didn’t bother me.

We liked the apartment so much that we’re booking again for June 2023, and would love room 7 again. It suited what we needed perfectly. There’s a nice terrace, plenty of space, a small kitchen area, and an adequate bathroom with a shower. The apartment was very clean, and the maids did an excellent job. Fresh bedding and towels were provided. Lovely restaurants are close by, and Makris beach is a short walk away.

The kitchenette worked well for eating in sometimes and going out at other times. It had two hobs, a fridge, and a sink, but no cooker. We’d asked for a double bed and got two singles pushed together instead. The apartment was cleaned and given fresh sheets and towels almost every day. We went at the beginning of May, when the restaurants and supermarkets on the main road were just opening. The location is handy for beaches and restaurants, though getting to a beach means a 10-minute walk.
