Ageri Traditional Villa

After years of taking trips with friends and staying in villas across different countries, this is the most comfortable house we’ve come across. The owners are incredibly nice, and we had a great holiday. The sunsets were wonderful, and everything was clean and looked just like the photos. The layout is thoughtful too: there are three outdoor tables on different sides of the house, so we could find shade, and every room has its own door straight out to the pool. There are two fridges, which is handy with a big group, plus a garden where you can pick fruit. I’d highly recommend this place if the photos appeal to you.

We had a great time here and would love to return. The owners were warm and friendly, quick to respond by text or phone, and twice a week they cleaned inside while coming each morning to tidy the pool area. They also brought us drinks, and we had a big barbecue with the whole family on our last evening. The villa has a lovely mountain view, with a tavern and supermarket about a five-minute walk away. Georgioupoli is around a 15-minute drive, and it’s a really nice spot. The house is large: three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main floor, another bedroom and bathroom in the upper appartment, as well as a big kitchen and Barbecue station. There’s a large pool out front, a vegetable garden, and room for two or three cars. If you need a big house, I’d recommend it.

The garden gave us fresh vegetables for our salads, including peaches, apricots, cucumbers, courgettes and aubergines, and we loved that. The mountain views are STUNNING, especially first thing in the morning. A car is useful for getting to most places, though the town is an easy 10-minute walk, with a local taverna, a nice brunch spot and a small supermarket. Ageri felt like a family run place. The host welcomed us with a tour of the main parts of the villa and a welcome shot, then helped with suggestions for nearby beaches, supermarkets and tarvernas. Our group of friends had plenty of room to relax indoors, by the pool or across the different outdoor seating areas. The bedrooms were spacious and well equipped, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The showers, dishwasher, air conditioning and other appliances all worked well. Thanks to the hosts for making such a beautiful home away from home. We’d highly recommend Ageri.

The villa is set among beautiful mountain scenery, and from there it was easy to get to Rethimno and Chania or explore southern Crete. We had a perfect holiday and enjoyed every hour. The hosts are really nice and clearly take good care of both the villa and their guests. Thanks!
