Hotel Rosmari

Tsambika was really kind and helpful, even arranging a car rental for us at a fair price. It’s a quiet, small hotel with a quaint, rustic feel. Our room was basic and somewhat worn, and the beds felt hard. The roof terrace is lovely for breakfast or relaxing with a bottle of wine, though you’ll need to buy the wine elsewhere.

Unless you get a really cheap deal, don’t stay here. At 60 a night, I expected something quite different. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel, and it’s far from everything, so you definitely need a car. The building and furniture are old, and the worn mattress left me waking up with back pain every morning. I was too disappointed to even check out breakfast. Cleaning and service were both poor. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The owner is very friendly and easy to reach, and the place is basically clean. Our room was a good size with an en suite, though the shower curtain had a little mould and only one of the four lights worked. Breakfast is self-service, with homemade jams, but just instant coffee. It’s a quiet, secluded spot about one kilometre from restaurants, with a spacious roof terrace that has plenty of shade.

The beds weren’t very comfortable and the furniture looked quite dated, but we still had a good time. The host and staff are exceptionally friendly, and the owner has turned the hotel into a garden filled with tropical flowers. Breakfast is free and includes vegetables from the hotel garden, which is a nice touch, though don’t expect too much. The road in is narrow and tricky, but parking is included. Having AC in the room was a real help on hot summer nights, and there are a few attractions and beaches nearby.
