The rooms are small and dated, there’s barely any service, and the promised breathtaking view looked more like a peek into an acid nightmare. Still, by Friday this place turns into the island’s liveliest club. Ask Jack Torrance, the caretaker, where and when it kicks off. You may need Berghain-level attire to get in, but don’t give up too quickly. You won’t leave the club the same person you were when you arrived. Somehow, this amazing spot still deserves five stars.

The owner and staff were really friendly, though the hotel and bedroom feel dated. The bed was hard for us, with makeshift wooden supports underneath. Breakfast was poor at this time of year: a toasted cheese and ham sandwich, supermarket white toast bread on the side, orange juice, and coffee. Maybe I’d stay again for one night.

For the price, the rooms were really poor, very basic, and felt like being put in a shed. There wasn’t even a microwave.

We had a lovely stay. The room and bed were comfortable and spotless, breakfast was nice, and the owner was kind. Such a nice family.
