Angela Beach

The setting was a nice change from London, and I found it relaxing. There's also a local shuttle into town about every hour, which was a nice extra. The staff were great, and the place was spacious, clean, and had lovely pools and rooms. The beach was disappointing, with very little sand, though the water and the view were nice. Food was the other letdown if you like well-seasoned meals. A few little things were good, but there wasn't much choice. The snack corner repeated the same three items every day. They tasted good, but after two days I wanted something different. The drinks had an alright selection, and the ice cream was great. Desserts were always banging, and the fruit was good too.

The hotel sits in a really nice area, and the staff were very friendly. The cleaning ladies were lovely too, and it's a good place for families. The food was good, though not great. The hotel is very large, but the rooms need work: our toilet leaked. They should do something about the rooms.

We left early, at 10:36 am on Monday, because the food safety worries and stress from the first days made us feel we needed to protect our family's wellbeing. Although they eventually moved us to a second room, the damage had already been done. Both my wife and I had severe food poisoning after eating at the hotel, so we stopped giving our child hotel food and had to spend extra on meals elsewhere. Our first room was unhygienic and didn't have the cot we'd requested for our two-year-old. A bright Exit sign kept us awake, and manager Maria suggested covering it with a towel, which raised a serious fire safety concern. The room was beside a pool bar and far too noisy for a toddler to rest. We arrived late because of our flight, but Maria, the manager, was rude and unprofessional and made us feel like a burden, even though the delay wasn't our fault. I booked through Loveholidays and have been a loyal customer for a long time, but this stay at Angela Beach Hotel and Apartments was unacceptable and put my family's health and safety at risk. The package did not meet basic health, safety, or cleanliness standards. I don't recommend this hotel.

The room was clean, the pools were nice, and the lifeguard was a really friendly person who did his job well. Those were the only positives for me. I've stayed at plenty of all-inclusive hotels, and this was the worst. One star for cleanliness and the pools. Stay away. The food was awful and the same every day, with maybe four or five choices, often disgusting, tough, or dry. The quality was very low, honestly Aldi food would be better. We had to buy meals elsewhere almost every day. The coffee was terrible, and drinks and coffee cost extra, so the all-inclusive offer felt almost nonexistent. There's just one shop beside the hotel and nothing else nearby. The closest proper restaurant is a 54-minute walk, unless you hire a car, which costs around £400 a week at the cheapest. The owners seem not to care despite hundreds of similar reviews. I paid extra for a sea view room, but could barely see the sea, just a tiny sliver from the side. The hotel advertises all-inclusive and sea views, but that's not how it felt. If you're trying to lose weight, maybe it's ideal.
