Acropolis Plus Penthouse

The host was friendly and helpful, and even arranged a van transfer that made everything easy. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and equipped with what we needed. Its location was excellent for getting to the points of interest. We were very happy with our stay and recommend it!

Yannis was a terrific host, friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help. He sorted out airport and ferry transfers and suggested some places for nightlife. The Acropolis Penthouse was comfortable, very clean, and well stocked. It’s in a great spot, about a 15-minute walk from the Acropolis. We highly recommend it for a visit to Athens.

We stayed August 20-22, and I found this host dishonest and felt tourists were being ripped off. He charged €110 for the airport transfer, though the driver’s paperwork showed €90. He said it was discounted from €150 plus taxes. After checking and finding transfers for €85-90, we canceled the return ride. The driver also didn’t help with our luggage. The host never showed us how to turn on the hot water, so everyone had cold showers. Then he claimed we’d stained a pillowcase and asked for €20, later changing it to €25 for dry cleaning. The amount kept changing, and he found the pillowcase within seconds of inspecting the room, which made it feel like another setup. We had no trust in him. He continues to lie, apparently without shame. I didn’t write my review within minutes, and I never asked for a refund; Expedia looked into that option. I wanted to warn other travelers. My wife didn’t get the instructions from a manual, she worked it out herself. He keeps inventing facts. We booked a more spacious Mercedes ourselves for much less than his overpriced transfer. The host and property are an embarrassment.

We had a great stay in this penthouse. It’s within walking distance of the Acropolis and the city center, with cafes and restaurants close by. Yainnis really helped us feel at home, offered recommendations, and responded when we needed something. I’d strongly recommend staying here in Athens.
