Acropolis Sherlock Residence

We were happy with the value and would stay again. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the Acropolis, with bus routes nearby for going farther afield. Our room was clean, modern, and nicely equipped, and the staff were attentive and friendly.

Construction noise and smells reached the rooms throughout our stay. We heard hammering, drills, and saws, and dealt with paint fumes, cigarette smoke, and sewage odors. Work went on seven days a week, starting as early as 7:30 and continuing into the evening. The manager first told me there was no construction, then claimed it was only from 10 to 2, which also wasn't true. When I complained, he was grumpy and said he didn't owe me advance notice and that I could leave if I didn't like it. Customer service was zero. The rooms are very small, with no desk, and the pillows are lumpy. Don't stay here.

The location is amazing, and everything felt very professional. Our room was spotless and lovely, with a comfortable bed. The people at reception, the elevator, and breakfast were all super nice, polite, and helpful. I don't often feel this happy with a hotel. I'd definitely come back.

The tiny elevator only fits two people comfortably, so we mostly used the stairs. Still, this was a great hotel for the price, and we'd stay again in Athens. The room was nice, with the comfiest bed and pillows of our whole trip, and the bathroom had a great big shower. They provided shampoo and body wash, but no conditioner. Staff at the front desk and housekeeping were very friendly, always saying good morning as we left. The location worked perfectly for what I wanted to do, with the Acropolis, Acropolis museum, plaka, and philopappos hill all easy to reach on foot.
