We spent about half our evenings on the terraced courtyard/patio, which has a lovely city view. The staff were kind and very helpful, with restaurant recommendations and help booking taxis to and from the airport. Our room was the best in the place, with lots of space and a city view. The hotel was perfect for us, close to everything, with a five to 15 minute walk to the historic sites around the Acropolis or to the subway. We'd definitely recommend it.

One thing to plan around is the noise. The neighboring churches ring their bells every hour, including overnight, even though the street itself is quiet and there's no traffic noise. Rooms on the main entrance level also hear people coming and going. Light sleepers may want to keep that in mind. For a taxi or Uber, I suggest getting dropped at "Restaurant Scholarhio". On the restaurant's left side, there's step-free access to the road, and the hotel is about two minutes from there. The shared rooftop terrace and balcony at Acron Athens is a great little spot to unwind and take in the Athens views after exploring. For late arrivals, they provide a building code, with the room key waiting at the door. The hotel is right in the heart of Plaka, and the area felt very safe. The clean, comfortable rooms are handy for exploring, with the main sights, including the Acropolis, a short walk away and lots of shops and restaurants close by. Just know that some rooms face the corridor rather than outside. That's probably fine if you're out all day, but it could feel claustrophobic if you plan to spend more time in the room, such as working. Each room has a desk and chair. There are only a limited number of rooms with an outside view, so I'd book one if that's what you want.

A favorite stay, with a wonderful view over Athens. Right in Plaka, with loads of places nearby for food, drinks, shopping, and sightseeing.

The location is very central for walking to sights, but taxis can be a problem. The narrow streets make pickups and drop-offs difficult, and some drivers refuse to go there. We booked through Booking.com, and check-in went smoothly with someone there to guide us. Our room was spacious and clean, with a firm, comfortable bed and a shower with good pressure. We were in the front room with a balcony, which had lots of light and great views. It was also noisy, NYC style, until about 2.30 AM. Other rooms might be quieter.

We loved our September stay. It's an affordable, convenient base in an old historic building right under the acropolis. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Would definitely recommend!
