The Square Hotel by X&N

The stay was lovely overall, and the hotel was nice and clean. There was a good selection of Nespresso coffee caps. The breakfast, though, was not good at all: the quality was bare minimum, and it was exactly the same dish every day. There was no choice at all, and I wouldn’t call it a local Greek breakfast experience. The rooftop bathtub was also broken or out of service for five of the seven nights we stayed.

The host went out of their way to make things easy for us. They even prepared breakfast the night before because we were leaving very early, and the free coffee and minibar were lovely touches. The roof terrace was stunning too. Our room was simple, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is on a very cultural street surrounded by great bars and restaurants.

The reception team were extremely kind and helpful, and sorted out our transfer without any trouble. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the free coffee, water, and wine, and the hotel’s exterior was neat, especially compared with the surrounding streets. Our room was fine, but the bathroom had poor plumbing, the drains often smelled bad, and the shower was tricky to use. On our last morning, there was also a leak into the bathroom. The breakfast setup was good, though eating it in the room could be awkward. There is a lift, but it’s the only one and it’s very small and slow. We were on the second floor and managed, but it could be difficult for other guests.
