I paid €288 upfront through Agoda for a room, then had to cancel because of a serious family medical emergency. I contacted the hotel right away and sent official documents from a public hospital, but they wouldn’t offer any flexibility, not even a date change. After the booking was cancelled, I saw the same room being offered again for the same dates at about €210. It seemed it could be resold, but I wasn’t offered a reasonable solution. Be very careful with the cancellation policy. I’d only book if you’re completely sure you won’t need any flexibility, because even a genuine emergency may mean losing your money. !!!

I slept comfortably in a very clean room, with no outside noise, and the breakfast was great. The service at reception and in the rooms was pleasant, and the prices were favorable. I’ll keep coming back. Some people complain about the dirty streets nearby, but road maintenance is the responsibility of Dimos Athinon (Municipality of Athens) and its government, which the hotel pays Revenue to. I recommend it with 5*****.

The street isn’t the nicest, and the price reflects that, but I always felt safe. There’s a police station on the street, and reception advised me to turn right whenever I left. It’s a 20-minute walk to the centre of Monasteraki. The place was spotlessly clean, the staff were really nice, and breakfast was a good way to start the day.

The neighborhood felt sketchy, and the sound carried through the thin walls. We could hear a dog barking in the next room, along with pretty much every other noise, and the AC was loud too. The rooms themselves were clean, newly renovated, and well equipped. Staff were very friendly and helpful, spoke fluent English, and breakfast was nutritious and delicious.

Omonia is one of the areas in Athens people are advised to avoid. It’s dirty and trashy, with lots of homeless people, and it didn’t feel safe after dark or like a nice place for a holiday. The hotel itself was quite okay, and the breakfast was nothing special but did the job for our one-night stay. Given the area, I’d advise everyone to stay away.
