Athens Feeling

The location was perfect, and our room was spacious and clean.

We’ve made this our second stay at Athens Feelings, since my wife and I live on Crete and come to Athens from time to time. It suits us to be in the city center but a few blocks away from the really hectic tourist crush around Monastriaki. The rooms are compact, as you’d expect for a well-priced place this central, but they’re nicely furnished, laid out efficiently, and have a King bed, a useful desk, a great mattress, and an excellent shower. The gift shop next door also handles reception, and the people there were warm, helpful, and made us feel at home. Maria kindly kept our bags after check-out, and Keti looked after our room.

The location is good, and staff were nice. They responded to my concern promptly the next day and said they would look into it, but the lack of round-the-clock front desk cover left me on my own during an emergency. The service hours weren’t clear, and I couldn’t reach anyone by calling the number they provided. There was no other direct way to contact the accommodation staff and no first-aid kit. The toilet door handle had sharp edges and tore my head open, leaving me bleeding heavily. Without a 24-hour front desk, I had to call an ambulance myself.

They cancelled my reservation, saying the system had double-booked and the other guest was already there. I got an apology, so at least there’s that, even if your plans might be ruined. They said, “I hope you understand.” I do, but I hope they understand why I’m leaving a poor review.
