Athens Psiri Hotel

The location made it easy to explore, with loads of eateries, restaurants, and juice bars around, and the train station isn’t far if you know the way. There were two staff members I spoke with, and both were really helpful to us as first-time visitors to Athens. They answered questions and suggested places to eat. I booked a room for my two friends, and the hotel arranged separate payments for us. They also booked a taxi to the ferry terminal at a good price, and the 24-hour reception was great. I had some lovely chats with Stavros at reception. The hot water problem was mentioned at check-in but still hadn’t been fixed after our 2-night stay, maybe because it was the weekend. I also didn’t like having the bathroom on a different level from my room. Creme Royale is a great choice for bakery treats, and Tamara for fresh squeezed juice and smoothies.

The rooms are simple, but comfortable and have what you need, with daily turnover. Service was friendly. You leave your room card at the desk whenever you head out, and they’ll hold your bags if you’re checking in or out early. The vending machine came in handy for water or a late-night snack. It’s a 5-minute walk to the metro, main street, and plenty of food, and about 15-20 minutes on foot to the main tourist sites. The only drawback was the thin doors. We could hear other guests when they were loud, including a noisy kid on our floor. Really good value for money. Efkharisto!

The two star rating needn’t put you off. The hotel was clean and modern inside, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room got fresh towels and cleaning every day, and they kept our cases after our last day while we went exploring. There’s a vending machine and tea and coffee at reception. Lots of good bars, restaurants, and coffee shops nearby, and we were no more than a 20-minute walk from anything. I’d recommend it.

Psiri is a lively, fun neighborhood, full of traditional taverns and vibrant bars. The Athens Psiri Hotel sits right in the heart of Athens, with everything we wanted to see within walking distance. Staff were helpful and pointed us toward some great nearby restaurants.
