We were locked out for about six hours when our room code stopped working. With the building WiFi down, we had to go to nearby restaurants to contact the host, then keep returning to see if the replacement code worked or help had arrived. We also had serious security concerns. The same code worked for the building, floor, and room doors, and when we tried it on another room, it opened that door too. It made us suspect the rooms all shared a code, leaving guests’ belongings essentially unsecured. The area felt rough, with syringes scattered along the road to the apartments. Walking back there in the dark didn’t feel safe or comfortable. The host eventually responded, but the long lockout, missing WiFi, security problem, and surroundings made the stay much more stressful than we expected.

The room was pretty nice, but the neighborhood felt very rough and we never felt at ease. On the first day, a building-wide power outage left us locked out in the heat. The owner asked other guests to let us in, and had shared access instructions for the whole building, including our room, with them. After we finally got inside, we had no electricity, AC, lights, or hot water for several hours. The owner also asked new arrivals to knock on our door so we could show them how to get into their apartment. It was uncomfortable for everyone. The next day our room lost power again, and the owner asked us to go into the maintenance room and check the breakers. That felt like a big red flag and not our responsibility, but without AC in the Athens summer we were desperate. The issues were eventually fixed, but the unreliable utilities, lack of privacy, and security concerns made the stay unpleasant. I can only recommend looking elsewhere.

Ryan was available throughout our stay and made us feel welcome. We had a very pleasant week in Athens: the apartment was clean, secure, air-conditioned, and had a well-equipped kitchen. It’s also well placed near the city center. We highly recommend it!

I’m really pleased with my stay. This was the most comfortable, modern, and stylish place I’ve ever stayed in for this kind of accommodation.

It’s an easy-to-access, comfortable apartment that was spotless and very well located. The neighborhood doesn’t look appealing at first, which is a shame, but it’s close to everything and actually quiet, with little going on.
