We were very happy with our stay at AthenSun Luxury Suites. The location in Monastiraki was the highlight, close to Plaka, with most sights an easy 10- to 15-minute walk away. We didn’t run into the noise problems people often mention, even without earplugs. We kept the balcony doors shut and the air conditioning on at night. The suite had plenty of space, with a living area and sleeping area divided by a wide wooden sliding door. Both had a TV, chair, mirror, and wall-mounted table. The bed was comfortable, though I wish the pillows were fluffier. In the hall there was a safe, Nespresso machine, and fridge. One coffee capsule per person felt a bit stingy, and we would’ve appreciated a second. The bathroom and toilet were separate, spacious, and beautifully appointed. I missed having a vanity mirror and a box of tissues, and a towel hook in the toilet area would’ve been useful. The balcony was lovely, but shallow, so you couldn’t walk past the chair or table. There’s no reception desk, which took a little getting used to, but everything worked out perfectly.

The only thing to keep in mind is the lively area and the bar right next door. It plays great music, but it’s loud, so light sleepers may want earplugs. My daughter and I weren’t bothered at all. Check out the bar when you arrive and say hi to Pavlos. Their espresso martini is excellent! We loved how easy it was to find places to eat. Whenever I looked up a top 10 spot, it was within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel was perfectly located, with clean rooms and great staff. Communication through WhatsApp was thorough and replies were quick. They even told us about a taxi strike, suggested other ways to get around, and shared information and links about the upcoming marathon. The air conditioners worked well, the beds were comfortable, including the pullout couch, and the shower was spacious with plenty of hot water. A very nice cleaning lady cleaned the rooms thoroughly every day. We couldn’t have picked a better place, and I’d highly recommend AthenSun to anyone visiting Athens.

The host was so kind, helpful, and quick to respond, which made the stay even better. The hotel was clean and well maintained, with very comfortable rooms and a great location. Fantastic place, and I’d happily stay again. Highly recommended.

My suite had a lovely balcony and was spacious, modern, and clean, with a comfortable bed and a rain shower. The location at AthenSun Luxury Suites is quiet yet within walking distance of the Acropolis and Plaka. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, and communication was always prompt and courteous. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. A comfortable, convenient boutique stay in the heart of Athens. Highly recommend!

Our previous accommodation fell through, so we were really glad to find this place. It was clean, cool, and convenient, and the staff were kind, helpful, and easy to communicate with. There’s a bar downstairs that can get a little loud, but as someone from NYC, it didn’t bother me. I didn’t need the earplugs they provided. I’d definitely book here again if I return to Athens. 10/10.
