The location was good, and breakfast looked just like the photos, but several things made the stay difficult. The Wi-Fi never worked. We reported the connection problem every day from check-in onward, even though we had the right password, and were repeatedly told it would be fixed. It never was. The air conditioning and fans also stopped working. Someone came to inspect them, scolded us for touching the panels, and said they would start again in ten minutes. They didn't, so the room stayed warm and humid. There was a bad smell from the washroom floor drain. Water from the shower, sink, and toilet all went through it, and you could actually see it flowing there. We couldn't call reception using the room phone. One of us had their WhatsApp, which helped, but otherwise we had to walk to the front desk on another street. That included the time our key stopped working halfway through the stay, while it was pouring rain.

We keep choosing this place when we're in Athens, especially for the amazing breakfast and the professional, accommodating staff. There was a problem with our reservation that was our fault, but the team still went out of its way to sort it out, and we were extremely happy with the service. Eirini, thanks for being so patient and helpful. You deserve a raise, and your manager is lucky to have you!

We spent most of our time walking around once we arrived, and there were lots of bars, restaurants, and grocery stores nearby. The metro stop was close too. The room was in the suites building down the road rather than the main hotel, with a nice balcony and plenty of space for two. The bed was comfortable, especially by European standards, and breakfast had a good range of typical European options. Our room wasn't ready when we got there, but the staff were lovely and kept our luggage while we went for lunch. On our last night I asked reception to arrange a taxi to the Port for the morning. It arrived on time, actually early. We were glad we booked this hotel.

The location made it easy to walk to the Acropolis, though it's uphill, and there were restaurants, coffee shops, amenities, and a hop-on hop-off bus stop just minutes away. After checkout, they also had a cupboard for luggage storage. I'd stay here again despite a few drawbacks. If you book a suite, check-in is at the main hotel a short walk away. The suites are huge, with a king bed, sitting area, and sofa bed. Ours had a fridge, cooker, sink, tea and coffee facilities, safe, bathrobes, and slippers. The bathroom was small but fine. The room was clean and had a TV and iron, but the hairdryer was weak. There were wall sockets near the foot of the bed on one side only, so bring charging cables at least 2m long. The USB sockets in our room didn't work. Wi-Fi was free. The staff were friendly and polite, although one day the cleaners left our door wide open. With just two suites per floor, fortunately nothing happened. Breakfast at the main hotel was basic but adequate. There was tea, coffee, juice, cereal, bread and toast, Greek yoghurt, canned peaches, whole fruit, pastries, cakes, spreads, fried and hardboiled eggs, and toasted meat and cheese sandwiches. Hot milk from the coffee machine could be used for porridge. Vegans and vegetarians weren't really catered for unless toast and jam was enough. Nothing was labelled, there was no vegan milk even when requested, and the cheese was beside the cold meat, so I couldn't eat it as a vegetarian. I was fine with tea and toast, but my vegan friend could only have fruit. With vegan milk, she could have had cereal or porridge. The fire alarm went off one morning and we didn't realize that's what it was. Nobody came to check that we'd left our room, so we evacuated to be safe.

We had a very spacious, clean room, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants, bars, and shops are close by, and the Acropolis is about a 10-minute walk away.
