Dioskouros Hostel

The rooms are big and very clean, but there’s no storage space or mirror in the room, which made it feel unwelcoming. There are lockers downstairs for 2 euros each time, and luggage storage also costs extra. The two showers serve one floor: one has glass walls and leaves you exposed, while the other is small but has a door. Breakfast is good, but there’s no kitchen or microwave for guests. The day before my final night, I got a text saying the whole hotel had been booked and I needed to check out the next day. They wouldn’t let me stay past checkout or even keep my luggage there.

My Airbnb fell through at 1 am after I nearly got violated, and I needed somewhere to sleep for the night. Everything else was closed, but this place let me check in at 4 freaking am. It was clean and felt super safe. Breakfast was included, and I paid 25 euros for the night. Where else in Athens can you check in at 4 in the morning for such a good deal? The staff lady was amazing, and we chatted for a few minutes. I absolutely recommend it. Please keep the place clean and tidy, because I’ll definitely stay again!

A big thank you to the staff who helped me find a pharmacy when I got sick. We were in a clean room with a private bathroom, which had all the basics we needed as a base for exploring. Plaka is just a short walk away, and the area was quiet and nice. We didn’t try breakfast, though the shared area looked cosy and cute.

The reception is open all the time, and the people there are very friendly. I shared a clean room with 3 ladies and got good service. It’s a lovely place right in the heart of Plaka, and I’ll come back.
