Hotel Jason Inn

The rooftop is only open for breakfast, supposedly so guests on the top floor aren’t disturbed during the day. If using the rooftop matters to you, pick another hotel. Breakfast itself is limited, and the hotel was noisy, with construction work going on. We wouldn’t choose it again.

Good value for the money, with modern, clean rooms and a spot right in the center, near Monastiraki metro. The breakfast was nice and kept topped up. Staff in reception, the restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly. Highly recommended for a stay in Athens.

Location was the only good thing about our five-night October stay. The rooms were tiny and not as clean as the hotel website made them look. On the first night, just before bed, a spider crawled across my sheet. The housekeepers hadn’t dusted under the beds or changed the sheets, they’d just made the bed with the same dirty linen. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly either, and there wasn’t enough toilet paper. It was so cramped that a medium or large person could barely sit on the toilet. Breakfast was very basic and poor quality. We’d booked a balcony, but it was tiny and looked straight at a wall. On top of that, a drunk man in the next room kept trying our door every night because he had the wrong room, and he spoke very loudly. It made the atmosphere and the people staying there feel low quality. Very disappointing. Keep all of this in mind before booking.

For a short Athens stay, the hotel is decent enough, though some of the furnishings could use improvement. It’s very central, close to restaurants and historic sights. Breakfast was adequate, but it would be nice to have more kinds of fruit than just watermelon. The view from the top floor is amazing.
