Welcommon Hostel

The room was clean, though the hot water wasn’t always available. We managed. As cyclists, the place worked really well for us: we could leave our bikes there for almost three weeks, then come back and set off cycling again. The staff were friendly, and we had an interesting conversation with the owner about his idea. We’re glad we could support bringing people from different cultures together. Thanks again for helping with the bicycles.

We were a group of 30 European students and stayed at Welcommon Hostel for four days last week after problems with another hostel. It turned out to be a great choice. The whole place was clean, especially the toilets, and it was quiet. Staff were kind and helpful. It’s right in the heart of Athens, close to a metro station. Thanks for the experience.

I spent about ten days at Welcommon hostel and had a great experience. Breakfast is free each morning, towels and linens are included, and the rooms get cleaned often. The hostel is clean, and the staff are incredibly kind and sociable. They went out of their way to help us feel comfortable. Its space and funding are entirely dedicated to supporting refugees and helping them integrate into society. I felt honored to stay there.

The balconies on the top floor look out over the city, and the one beside our room had a table and bench. We loved bringing takeaway back from a shop down the street and eating there in the evening. Many tourist spots are an easy walk away, and Welcommon Hostel has a fascinating history of cooperation and refugee integration. The owners’ kindness to people who stayed there in the past comes through in how guests are treated. Breakfast was delicious, the facilities were clean, and the staff were helpful and kind. If you’re visiting Athens, Welcommon should be high on your list.
