Living Yard Acropolis

The room was cozy, with very comfortable bedding, a fridge, and an espresso machine. I also liked the building's decor, the friendly, helpful staff, and the touch screen keypad entry, so there were no hotel cards to carry. The location worked well for buses from the airport, the metro, and the Plaka neighbourhood. A couple of things could be better: the air conditioning switches off when you leave, so the room may be warm when you return in hot weather, though that does save energy. After a shower, the taps got very hot, and water leaked from around the tub onto the bathroom floor. Smoke from people smoking outside also came in through the room windows.

It's about a 15-minute walk to the Acropolis and lots of other places. The place was lovely and clean, and the staff were helpful and really friendly. I'd stay here again if I come back to Athens.

Living Yard was a pleasant place to stay. Our room was bright, roomy, and comfortable, and I liked this neighbourhood even more than Monastiraki, where we stayed on our return to Athens. There are lovely cafés close by, including Fika, Ete, and Little Tree Books and Coffee. The Acropolis is reachable on foot, but there's no direct view of it, and the hotel is right by a main road. Our room faced the street near the entrance, so traffic and other noise came through. The doors and windows didn't insulate well.

The room was comfortable and had excellent air conditioning. Staff were happy to hold our bags before check-in and after check-out, which was handy. The hotel was very clean, good value, and in a perfect location, with a playful, unusual layout. I'd happily recommend it, there's everything you need in a great spot.
