Plaka Hotel

The room was spacious, bathroom included, and the Plaka location had a great feel. But after arriving exhausted from a ferry, with a flight the next morning, we really needed sleep. Our air conditioner wasn’t working properly that night. When I told the person at reception, he said there was nothing he could do, didn’t check it, and offered no help. We spent the night sweating in the heat. We only stayed one night and couldn’t have managed another. This place might suit you if you’re out all day and only come back to crash, but be warned. I’d look for better hospitality if possible.

Agnes and Eva were especially friendly, and the other staff were very kind too. I had a special request because of some circumstances, and they were able to accommodate it, which made my wife and me very happy. Thank you very much, efcharisto! The rooms felt like four stars to us and were cleaned daily. Breakfast was good, and we’ll certainly come back.

There’s a great rooftop bar upstairs with a view of the Parthenon. This three-star hotel is in central Plaka, between the Parthenon and Shopping Steeet, both within walking distance. The room size was just okay, and there wasn’t anything especially memorable.

PLAKA HOTEL, ATHENS is in an excellent spot and the hotel itself was pretty decent. The mattress had almost no support, though. Sit on the edge and you’d slide right down. The pillows were either huge or regular-sized but lumpy. Baggage storage was the worst part. They offered a room beside reception, but it wasn’t locked and they didn’t make sure someone at reception was watching it all the time.
