ROY Hotel

It’s not as bad as some reviews suggest, but the rooms are a bit rough. My main concern was that we were on the 6th floor and there was no emergency exit, which seems like a serious health and safety hazard.

People were arriving at 1, 2, and 3 in the morning, being loud and leaving cigarette smoke everywhere. You could hear everything from the other rooms, and there were screams outside the door at 2 in the morning. It’s not normal. We couldn’t sleep ALL NIGHT!!! Calling this a "3 stars" hotel doesn’t fit. It’s a -3!

The room made me sick, so I had to leave. It was filthy, with hair left by previous guests, and a stale cigarette smell that triggered my allergy and asthma. I could barely breathe. The hotel says it’s non-smoking, but people smoke in the rooms and apparently aren’t fined or removed. They say they can’t control what people do, but they shouldn’t advertise a non-smoking hotel if smoking goes on inside. Reception was staffed by three older gentlemen, and one was rude for no reason. I arrived smiling and tried to ignore the smell, but couldn’t stay. The actual hotel is completely different from what the pictures show. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re fine with stale cigarette smell, rude service, and dirty rooms.

For a 3 star hotel that’s open 24 hours a day, it’s very good value. We enjoyed our stay. The front desk team were friendly, accommodating, and gave us great advice.
