We could walk everywhere we needed to go while visiting friends, including to our anniversary brunch near the Acropolis. Shila is right in the heart of Kolonaki, so the location couldn’t be better. The rooms each have their own charm and character. We spent New Years 2026 there and, although we travel to Greece often, this visit let us enjoy vibrant Athens in a new way.

The Garden retreat room was lovely, with a pretty garden patio and everything in the room carefully thought through. Shila sits down an alley away from the busy streets, which suited us. We had a fabulous two-night stay, and the service was incredible. Before we arrived, they answered all my questions promptly and professionally, and the staff were just as wonderful during our stay. Absolutely amazing, highly recommend!

We felt at Shila like we were visiting close friends, thanks to the warm welcome and personal care. It’s a small, intimate hotel, and breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. We also got tips on local places and restaurants that tourists might miss, which made the experience feel more personal than a stay at a big chain. The rooms and lobby have beautiful art and architecture, with a different artistic design in every room. The place has a character of its own. Marianna, Era, and Nikoleta at the front desk were especially helpful. They answered our questions and handled requests before we even landed in Greece. Their recommendations helped us plan a great Athens itinerary, and they made us feel special throughout our family stay. Their kindness and attention to detail made the visit unique, and we’re grateful for everything they did to make us comfortable. We’ll definitely return to Shila on our next Athens trip!

I’ve stayed at Shila Hotel Athens several times since 2020, and somehow each visit feels even more like home. The rooms are spotless and feel fresh, almost brand new. Their design is luxurious but simple, elegant and still very comfortable, with care visible in every corner. The staff are attentive, personal, and genuinely kind. Details in the room are thought through, with comfort and convenience in mind. And each time, Shila manages to surprise me with an even higher level of hospitality. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens!

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were so kind and helpful. The rooms are gorgeous and really comfortable. This is a beautiful boutique hotel with an amazing eye for detail, right on a pedestrian street in a perfect location.
